Job Description
We are looking for Instructors should have preferably 3 years of coaching experience in Choir. All pianists should have preferably 3 years of experience in piano accompaniment for choral singing
Work Timings:
• Tuesday and Friday: 2pm to 4pm
Excluding public holidays, school holidays and CCA stand down period for exams or unless otherwise informed by the school at least 4 working days in advance to the training date.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The Instructor has to instill a love for singing among the members
- The Instructor has to provide leadership opportunity to the senior members and to coach them as facilitators
- The Instructor has to help pupils improve on their singing skills
- Bidder to submit a programme outline for evaluation as stated in evaluation criteria
- To design and plan a developmentally appropriate 30-week student development/training programme in consultation with the teacher-in-charge.
- The Instructor has to work with the teacher-in-charge to develop students’ passion in singing and inculcate good values in them.
- The Instructor has to provide a list of contacts of pianists for school to invite over to practise with members during performance rehearsals and actual performances (as and when the school requires pianist services, the Instructor may need to arrange and liaise with the pianist).
- The Instructor has to be able to do ‘live’ sessions through Zoom if need arises for e-CCA to take place.
- The Instructor has to provide recorded music accompaniment for choral singing performance if the condition do not allow a pianist to be present
Qualification & Experiences:
- Instructors / Pianist shall be registered with the Ministry of Education.
- For music-related activities, the instructor must have a minimum ABRSM / Trinity Guildhall Grade 5 in music theory and a ABRSM / Trinity Guildhall Grade 5 in practical and played piano for 5 years
- Others:
- Preferably possess Diploma in Performance Recital (Piano) and have vocal training
- Preferably possess a Distinction in Grade 5 in Singing
- Preferably have 5 years of choral singing experience
- Preferably have 3 years of experience in assisting with teaching of children choir
- Be able to relate well with young children
- Pianist:
- Preferably possess Diploma in Performance Recital (Piano)
- Preferably have 3 years of choral singing accompaniment experience
- Preferably have 3 years of experience in assisting a choir conductor
- Be able to relate well with young children
- All Instructors including the pianists should be competent to handle the tasks and responsibilities assigned. All Instructors should have preferably 3 years of coaching experience in Choir. All pianists should have preferably 3 years of experience in piano accompaniment for choral singing.
- To provide a list of current and past training conducted for similar programmes from 1 Jan 2017.
